Founded in 1897, Bristow was called the Woodland Queen of Creek Nation because of its beautiful setting.  The City Park and Lake boast impeccably maintained tennis courts, skate park, frisbee golf, swimming pool and Perry Maxwell designed golf course.

Bristow has an active Main Street, school system and performing arts center.  The town is easily accessible via four major highways including Historic Route 66.

As the Jones Memorial Airport is undergoing major renovations including runway expansion, new terminal, and fuel station, things are on the Go in Bristow.

Culture

Culture

The Muscogee (Creek) Nation culture and history is very much a part of the Bristow community.

Muscogee people practice religious beliefs at ceremonial grounds and Muscogee churches.

Creek County is home to Salt Creek (Iron Post) Ceremonial Ground as well as Mutteloke United Methodist Church.

There are 1,243 Muscogee (Creek) citizens in the Bristow area and 5,977 living in Creek County.

During the oil boom of the early 1900s, Syrian-Lebanese immigrants brought their food and culture to the Bristow area.

These influences can still be found as tabouleh and hummus have become mainstays in local cuisine.

Every May these dishes are celebrated at Bristow’s annual Tabouleh Fest on Main Street.

Vision

Through a collaborative effort between community leaders, Bristow's Strategic Vision Plan is well underway.

As a result of these efforts, Bristow's convenient location, and small town charm, we are currently experiencing increases in Route 66 tourism, new residents, and job growth.

In conjunction with expansion projects at Jones Memorial Airport, we are seeing interest and business development particularly in manufacturing, aviation, and defense sectors.

Whether you are making Bristow your new home, relocating or expanding your business here, or just passing through, let us know how we can help.

We welcome you to share your vision.
